IBM hits graphene transistor breakthrough

IBM investigation on Friday will announce that it has demonstrated a radio-frequency graphene transistor using the greatest volume — 100GHz — so far.

Graphene is truly a specific type of graphite, consisting of the layer of carbon atoms packed in honeycomb lattice. Its components could cause more quickly transistors.

IBM's paper, which could be released in Science, particulars how the most latest graphene breakthrough could allow new communications products and electronics.
